The Spirit of Five Keys Housing
We take pride in operating clean, welcoming, and compassionate shelter facilities that embody a trauma-informed, holistic approach. We prioritize treating every individual with dignity and respect through a harm-reduction model that fosters trust and understanding.
Customer-Service Approach to Care
We create a welcoming space where all guests are valued. Our staff takes pride in providing top-tier customer service, ensuring open dialogue through satisfaction surveys, feedback opportunities, and a responsive grievance policy designed to enhance guest experiences.
Amenities at our sites include:
Community gathering spaces and dining areas
Laundry facilities and on-site storage
Resident gardens and pet grooming spaces
Bright, clean interiors with murals, natural light, and comfortable furniture
Outdoor spaces with planters and areas for relaxation
Our participants—whom we call “guests”—are supported by our visible and attentive customer service/security staff, known as “ambassadors.” Easily recognized in their turquoise blue shirts, ambassadors are present throughout the dorms, kitchens, and community rooms, which feature TVs, games, books, computers, and outdoor areas.
Excellence Through Training
The cornerstone of our 5-star customer service lies in robust staff training. Ambassadors receive onboarding and ongoing education, including:
De-escalation techniques
Narcan administration for overdose response
Awareness training for the needs of transgender and LGBTQ guests
First aid, CPR, and workplace ethics
Harm reduction strategies
Shadowing experienced supervisors for hands-on learning
Promoting Dignity and Community Connection
We serve individuals with complex needs, including substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and trauma. We foster a positive workplace culture that emphasizes respect and engagement while actively reaching out to neighborhood leaders and community members to build bridges of trust and cooperation.
Our goal is simple: to provide a safe, dignified, and supportive environment that empowers every guest to feel at home and cared for.
